Kate Humble to judge Penterry Photography Competition

Kate Humble

Kate Humble is taking time in her action packed schedule of TV appearances, including the current series of Springwatch, to help local church fundraisers with a unique photography competition.

Volunteers have organised the competition, in conjunction with the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), to raise much-needed funds for the medieval church of St Mary’s, Penterry. Nestling between St Arvans and Tintern the building has a fascinating history standing by the site of a deserted plague village and surrounded by a landscape of hills and forests of the Wye Valley.

Celebrating this magical beauty of Penterry and the surrounding area is the theme of the competition and entrants should aim to capture its unique qualities in their photographs.

Prizes generously donated by Tintern photographer Sheryl Long, Chepstow Bookshop, a Gwent Wildlife Trust, the Piercefield, St Arvans as well as cash prizes will be awarded at the Photography Exhibition, Penterry Church on the 13th September.

Kate will be judging the entries alongside, members of the church committee, Andrew Blake, Wye Valley AONB Officer and Sean Carman from Monmouth Photo Centre. The successful entries will also feature on a calendar and be used for promotional purposes for the Church.
